Our mission at Rooted and Routed is simple yet profound: to empower expats worldwide with the knowledge, resources, and community they need to navigate the complexities of expat life with confidence and resilience. Sabiya Pathan Withoeck is a multi-passionate individual with a rich tapestry of 14 years of diverse expat experiences. Proudly rooted in India, she is a multi-passionate woman, wearing many hats as a certified yoga practitioner, nutritionist, and 3D interior designer. Her expat journey began in 2010 when she married her Belgian husband, taking her to live in Sweden, Belgium, the US, and now back to India for her current expat assignment.
Before embarking on her own expat adventure, Sabiya worked as an executive assistant to a team of expatriates, gaining first hand insight into the unique challenges and opportunities of expat life. Later her experience in Stockholm, Sweden, highlighted the complexities of integration—from the chill of Scandinavian winters and transitioning from a career woman to a homemaker, to adapting to unfamiliar cuisines and customs. It was overwhelming, but it revealed that each destination offers rich learning opportunities for personal growth, a global mindset, and connections beyond borders.
Sabiya is dedicated to sharing the untold stories of expat life. “At Rooted and Routed, we offer diverse perspectives and valuable insights from expat communities around the world. Our mission is to empower expats with the knowledge, resources, and community they need to confidently navigate expat life. We create a supportive space where expats can connect, learn, and thrive”.
“Join me as we explore the multifaceted world of expatriate life. Each story is a new adventure with new routes, offering unique insights and practical advice. Every experience shared helps you build a greater understanding and deeper connection to the global expat community, empowering you to navigate your own expat journey with confidence and ease”.
